Theme
Lines of Resistance
The first edition of VISIONS is structured around the theme Lines of Resistance, a concept rooted in the identity of Camprodon and its Valley: a mountain and border territory historically shaped by passage, exile and resistance. During the 1939 Republican Retreat, thousands of people crossed these mountains on their way to France in search of freedom, leaving a mark that remains part of the territory’s collective memory.
From this local context, Lines of Resistance broadens its perspective towards a universal experience. The festival brings together works that explore resistance as an active force and a human condition: resilience, overcoming adversity, systems of survival, and vulnerability in the face of the social, human and environmental transformations of our time.
The six exhibitions in Edition 0 approach this idea through different perspectives and visual languages, turning photography into a space from which to observe, question and reimagine the present. Lines of Resistance thus invites audiences to reflect on the boundaries we inherit, impose, cross or challenge, and on the possibilities that emerge when those boundaries are transformed.
